Meet Taylor

Taylor had an incredible gift for bringing people together.  She showed us that kindness, friendship, and inclusion have the power to change lives.

Although Taylor's life was filled with extraordinary challenges, it was also filled with extraordinary joy.  She inspired everyone around her to see ability before disability and friendship before differences.

Today, Taylor's Place continues her legacy by creating opportunities for adults with disabilities to connect, grow, laugh, and belong.

Why Taylor's Place Exists

As Taylor grew, we saw how important friendships and inclusion were to her happiness.  Her "Shooting Stars" group began as a small circle of friends and grew into a vibrant community of about 20 members.
When Taylor transitioned out of school age services, we quickly realized how limited the options were for adults with disabilities.  We knew there had to be something more-something built on friendship, acceptance, and fun.

Taylor's Place was created to fill that gap

Its a place where adults of all abilities can continue learning, growing, and making memories together-just like Taylor dreamed.

Our Mission

Taylor's Place fosters an inclusive community for adults with disabilities by creating opportunities for connection, creativity, and meaningful engagement in a welcoming and supportive environment.

We believe every adult deserves a place where they are seen, valued, and invited to participate fully.  Through clubs, gatherings, and shared experiences, we are building a community rooted in dignity, friendship, and belonging.

As we grow, our vision is to expand opportunities for connection and create a lasting community model that continues the spirit of kindness and inclusion that inspired our beginning.

Because everyone deserves a place to belong!

02. THE BEGINNING OF A DREAM

While caring for Taylor, I witnessed firsthand how difficult it could be for adults with disabilities to find meaningful opportunities for friendship and community after leaving school.

What began as a small group of friends-Taylor's Shooting Stars-quickly became much bigger!

06. LOOKING AHEAD

We are just getting started!

Our vision is to continue expanding programs, community partnerships, volunteer experiences, life skills classes, educational workshops, and one day, a dedicated community center where adults with disabilities can gather, learn, work, and thrive all at low cost to participants.

The best chapters of our story are still being written.
